About Chainlink (LINK)
Chainlink is an Ethereum cryptocurrency that powers the decentralized oracle network “Chainlink.” The objective of Chainlink is to provide data feeds to smart contracts, enabling them to interact with external systems.
The inability of most contracts to connect to off-chain systems natively is addressed by the Chainlink network. Chainlink, through Decentralized Oracle Networks (DONs), resolved this issue of smart contracts via independent Oracle nodes. Such an independent network of Oracle nodes fetches, aggregates, validates, and delivers real-world data on-chain.
LINK is an ERC-677 token of the Chainlink network. It is used for implicit and explicit staking and as a fee for node operators.
Founders of Chianlink
The founder of Chianlink Labs is Sergey Nazarov. In 2014, he co-founded CryptoMail, a decentralised, blockchain-based e-mail service. Nazarov teamed up with Steve Ellis to launch SmartContract. The platform connects smart contracts to external data and catalyzes bank payments.
